Somebody talk me out of using sand. Please. I'm leaning towards a 1" bed, strictly for looks. getting tired of the barebottom look I think.

Anyone have any sand they want to sell? I need about 1.3 cu ft

I wouldn't use sand ever with mp 40's it will be blowing everywhere. I even get a little blow around with crushed coral and my mp 40's are 14in off the bottum of the tank.

I think a sand bottom would look incredible in your tank therefore I see no reason to talk you out of it but instead only encourage. I think you're setup is more than equiped to handle any possible waste build up. I don't think it would be a whole lot in a 1" bed. I think the only thing you really need to worry about is whether or not 10000gph is too much flow for sand. But the only way to find out is to give it a try.

What mode do you use? When I set mine on lagoon it will blow alll the crushed coral out of the front center of the bottum.

The MP40s in my tank don't blow around a thing. Just saying... It is on lagoon mode as well.

My understanding is that in long term, the tank is easier to care for barebottom. I have never had a tank setup for 5-10 years though since school has me moving so often lol.

I think sand make the colors in corals stand out but your tanks the only bare bottm tank iv seen and it was prty badass so I think I would do sand but either way I'm sure will look good
