Scott Aquarium tour information

OK, I have date and time all worked out with Mitch, the aquatics curator at the Omaha zoo. He will be giving us a behind the scenes tour of the Scott aquarium. If you've ever wanted to see how a big facility like this operates now is your chance.


Date: Saturday Sept 21st


Time: 10:30 am


Cost: $15 regular zoo admission


We are limited to roughly 40 people. Children are welcome on the tour, but they will count against the number. I still need to figure out a place we can all meet up, as soon as I have that info I will post that as well. Should be a fun an interesting event.


Please sign up only if you will be coming to this. We don't want a list full of maybes and have someone not come because they thought there was no room. I'm sure if there is enough interest we could schedule another date for another group as well.

Ok everyone the tour starts at 10:30. Please meet up outside of the Scott Aquarium building about 10:00-10:15. We'll make sure everyone is accounted for and get with Mitch to start everything out.

If you need to get a hold of me my cell is 515-770-1269. I'll be hitting the zoo when it opens, so if anyone wants to meet up then give me a call or shoot me a text.

 

We'll probably just leave that up to each group coming. If someone wants to try and plan a carpool, then that would be great.


I will probably be driving over Friday evening and spending the night in Omaha.

If my count is correct that would put us right at the 30 mark

 

I'm sure we can set up another tour at a later date if we have enough people interested.

 

I've had a few more people express interest in this tour, I'm going to contact Mitch and see what we can do about possibly arranging another tour.

 

Ok, good news for those of you that have contacted me wanting to attend this. Mitch wrangled one of his aquarists into taking a second group of people on a tour of the facilities. The times for both tours are the same. 10:30 am. They will just split us into 2 groups. For the best experience of the group and so we don't overwhelm the tour guy each group will be limited to roughly 20 people. 1 or 2 extra will be fine, but beyond that will have to attend some other date.
So if you want in act fast as we only 3 spots left to get to our 40 limit.
