Set your location - here`s how!

Eventually you will post something and someone will ask "where are you located?"
You may also notice that some users have their city and state listed below their avatar.  However, it is not obvious where you set this.
Many of the settings are found by hovering your mouse over "My GIRS" then selecting "My Account/Profile".  However, the field that you need to fill out to set the location that shows up under your avatar on your posts is not found under the "My Settings" page that you get to from the "My GIRS" page; there are actually 2 different "My Settings" pages.
To set this item, scroll to the top of this page and click on "My Settings" right between "My Profile" and "Search".  This will bring up the other "My Settings" page.  Click "Edit" at the bottom of the page and add your city/state or whatever location information you feel comfortable revealing.
It is very helpful for people to know what area of the state you live in when you post questions, when you ask for or offer help, if are thinking about buying something, and ESPECIALLY when you are selling something (which is where this almost always comes up).
So please set this item, and don't forget to join your local regional forum group as well!

I think this should be made a sticky. I started a thread on this issue a year ago and got the answer, but I had to search for it to remember what it was!

PPS you have a typo in yours - "G" instead of "C" in Cities LOL
