Went to Pet's Playhouse and got a midas blenny for 44.99 and a cleaner shrimp for 20.99. Bluezoo had them for 39.99 and 17.99 respectively. Add on 34.00 for shipping and subtract a few bucks for gas and I figure I saved about 20.00, and it was a nice day for a drive to boot. I am pleased to report that blenny and shrimp are doing great.

Marc, too bad we don't have a store like that up here in our area yet!

Yeah, you'd think there would be a niche for a good SW store.

I prefer to buy local if possible. Usually (but not always) that's possible with fish, but generally (with the exception of food) the equipment and supplies that I need are not stocked by LFS's.

not to mention that even with shipping the equipment tends to be cheaper. but yeah i try and buy all my livestock, food and supplies locally.

Yes, it's tough for a brick and mortar store to match online prices. I once went into Emporium Pets here in W'loo and noticed that a Jager heater that Marine Depot wanted 19.95 for Emporium wanted 52. Of course, this is the same place that used to get dogs from the Humane Society and sold them for 300 bucks.
