Advice? Should I add a cleaner wrasse?

How many fish do you have for it to clean is the key.

If you only have a few, a clean will do much more harm then good. A cleaner shrimp or two is a much better option. If you want a cleaner fish, there are several types of cleaner gobies that are a better choice.

 

In my opinion, definitely not. The few fish you have will get picked way too much.

I am sure people keep them with a low fish count, but I have seen many times where they are added and pick way too much.

 

I like using cleaner shrimp rather than cleaner wrasse. Like he said they pick too much.

 

I have one and he does a excellent job keeping everyone clear of parasites. But I have 20 some fish for him to work on.

 

I have ick and currently using the liquid treatment. Should I get a cleaner shrimp or wrasse instead???

 

Doesn't matter which. They aren't gonna cure ich. I have had best luck buying healthy compatible fish, feeding them a bunch, and only adding after observation.
I don't have a separate QT system but have the room in other tanks tied to one system to separate new fish for observation. So I don't have good advice for an ich outbreak because I haven't had problems yet. Hopefully someone else can help.
