I've had other fish do this, including my coral beauty. Some times it took a couple days.

I have a coral beauty in my QT and it was much more shy than the flame angel in the QT next to it (I put a magazine between the two tanks so that they could get settled in before seeing the other fish next door). Then after a week, I removed the magazine, and the behavior was the same as when they couldn't see each other. Then eventually they went into the 120 gallon and I see the flame pretty readily, but I have to be really, REALLY patient to see the coral beauty and it barely ever comes out from behind the rocks. A new one going right into a DT would probably hide pretty well for a while. I am sure it is fine. As long as it has rocks to pick and eat from, it will come around.

Mine has been in my tank since almost the beginning so it is pretty comfortable and out frequently. Even so it is rather shy compared to the other fish.
