Hey all. While this isn't salt, it might be helpful to anyone wanting to mount some strip lights on fish only or even multiple ones on coral.

My new tank is 6 feet, not many lower power simple lights are that long, and ones I have seen sag. I decided to try getting 2 36" long lights, I cut the metal support that normally rests on the frame where the two lights meet. I picked 2 current LED FW lights as they are inexpensive. I measured the gap from the eurobracing to the light as 3/8" and noticed that I could put a support about 1/2" under the lights and not block any leds. The steel strip is totally hidden too.

So I decided to order a 70" long strip of stainless steel 3/8" thick and 1/2 wide for about $40 shipped. I got a can of black plasti dip so the metal won't be exposed or scratch the glass. I put a slight bend in it so it arches up and sits flat with the leds on top. Secured with a few strategically placed globs of superglue between the two and I have a 6 ft light bar with no sag! Doesn't hurt coverage and you can't see it's there.

Don't know whe someone couldn't do this for longer tanks.

Excuse the sparce decorations for now!

That looks pretty nice, very minimalist fixture and looks like it puts out decent light levels for that setup too

Thanks, the pictures are not the best but considering I didn't want to spend over 150 and have a simple clean light I think it's good. Suspending from the ceiling isn't something I wanted to do on this guy. That level in light has the blues turned to lowest level and the whites turned down too. White starboard sure reflects a lot of light.

Now I have FW puffer and stingrays. About as close to sw I can get without getting salty!
