I just cleaned my skimmer i use to just use water but used a vinegar bath this time. Anyway now it dosen't want to make a foam head no matter how high you raise the pipe. There is still pleanty of air but it wont build up a head of foam. It is a octo 150 with a mesh mod I have never had a issue with this skimmer it has always skimmed like crazy. Any ideas??

Most likely it just needs to establish a new coat on the neck of the skimmer

I know with my skimmer after i clean it i have to go through a break in period again, I turn the air valve to the closed or nearly closed position and then slowly open the vlave over a few days till i get the desired skim.

Yea I figgured it just needs to slime up but it is werid that when I first got it it never had to break in. I just put it in and it started to skim like crazy. It has already been 2 days I hope it starts skimming like normal soon. I guess i'll just have to do a extra water change to make up for it.

I dose vite C as a carbon source so I put a little in the skimmer thinking it might help the bactera grow faster and 2 hours later it is now makeing a nice head of dry foam. Don't know how it worked so fast ( or if it is realted at all ) but don't realy care it's working like normal now. From now on I think i'll skip the vinegar and just use water and a toothbrush like i always have.

Still skimming like it used to?
My manufacturer (ETSS) suggests cleaning with water and a sponge as over cleaning will cause it to break in like it was new again.
How long have you been dosing vitamin C?
    Noticed any improvements?
Were you primarily dosing for growth or algae?
Have you tried Vodka or other carbons before?
    Thanks!

Yea it is back to normal now. I don't recomend useing vinager to clean a skimmer! I started doseing vitamin c This product http://www.iherb.com/NutriBiotic-Sodium-Ascorbate-Crystalline-Powder-16-oz-454-g/10178?at=0
a few months ago. There is deffinetly a drastic improvement in color and growth. I also dose microbacter 7 and brightwell AA. I haven't tryed vodka yet but am thinking about it.
