OK I got it done yesterday. @Armydog@Armydog posted a link to Reef bum video showing how to install float switch on your skimmer cup for protection of overflow.
The biggest pain was drilling the nylon bolt. It took some time but I got it.

I will download a couple more pics later my phone is extremely slow this morning.
I used a 5/16 nylon bolt, 3 nylon nuts. Could probably use 2 but I wanted some height adjustment. I drilled the bolt slowly and cooled it in water several times during cleaning so the bolt didn't warp.
Then used float switch and hooked to apex break out box. I will screen shot skimmer program later.

I should really do that too. I hate when my skimmer overflows.

Its Pretty easy. The only PITA is drilling the bolt.
My skimmer rarely overflows. But when it does I am usually out of town lol.

Good job man. It's always nice to add more redundancy.

I think i'll make my own adapter. I've got access to a manual lathe at work that should make quick work of something like that.

    But....
I'm going to have to modify an existing holes in my skimmer cup, or make a new one, or find a smaller float switch. That one catches on the skimmer cup. Adapter success :) Functional FAIL!!

I would just drill a new hole for the float.

Can you heat it and bend it a little or is it still too close?

its just too close, it would need to remain straight to clear everything. There is plenty of room if I just move it inward a little bit.

Maybe you can use a Dremel and make the hole a slot so you have adjustment room.
