Skimmer Recommendation Wanted

    This is for a friend, but he is looking for a good skimmer.  It needs to be rated for about 450g max.   I am looking for some good recommendations, because i am not very knowledgable of all the different skimmers out there, and I know that some of you have tried different kinds.

    not sure of the price range, so any recommendations will work, and I will sort throw them all.

    Here is the link.  I will say it is nice to have information compiled like this but it is out of date.  It doesn't include newer skimmers like Warner Marine, ATB and other new cone style skimmers that is all the craze these days.

    i have a my reef creation skimmer (MR - 1) that is really kick ***...right now it is out of sump but hopefully will be in sump some time...it is kind of expensive but it is really good quality and does damn good job...also the people at MRC were awesome to work with...i have pump issues when i got it and they helped mr figure it out right away... try looking at myreefcreation.com they have a bunch of different skimmers to choose from too...good luck

    This is good to know!  I have an MR-1 purchased that I'm going to be hooking up to my setup.  I've also heard good things about them but have not seen one in action.  What's the total water volume of the system that you have it on?

    I have it on 66g total...46 bow and 20 L...i try to clean once every week or two and i get some pretty thick stuff out of there...its pretty sweet

    Hey thanks everyone for the input. I wasn't able to open the chart, I don't have the right program or something computery that I don't understand. I am sure AJ would help me with that when he gets back from vacation.
    B-Rad I like them skimmers you posted, I am going to look into them for myself.

    I agree...I did a little reading on those posted and they look pretty sweet
