Ok I'm getting my 125g up and goin and will need a new skimmer. I have been looking at them and figure I will get a octopus.I'm looking at around $500 give or take to spend on one. Figure that should get me a good skimmer. If I figure right I will be around 150 total water tank and sump. It will be a mixed reef tank. And my add on to the system later.

What do you guys and gals think I should go with? Was looking at the super reef in sump 8" or the 10" but think it maybe to big. Or diffrent skimmer if its better and in the same price range.

Sounds like your on the right track. Reef Octopus are great skimmers and you should be able to easily find a great skimmer with your budget. What footprint do you have to work with in your sump? I think something like the SRO 2000 would be a great option. Should be more than enough for your water volume. I don't really think you need to run a skimmer rated for much more than your tank volume.
I run the big brother SRO5000 on my tank and it works great. Besides a cracked volute housing that was my fault its run flawlessly for a few years now.

Well I'm not sure yet what model to get yet. But the ones I have looked at I don't think will fit in my sump need to get measured. It kind of narrow so need to get that done and figure out if I need a bigger sump.

Let me know if you decide The sss series has about the smallest footprint of any skimmer line with the pump under it instead of beside the reaction chamber so keep that in mind:)

If you can't fit the sump saver model in there like Jamie is talking about you definitely need to rework or figure out something different for your sump.
