   How often are people skimming? Is it best to just let the skimmer run 24/7 or do people run on timers and only skim certain hours a day? Have a 58g with 20g sump and euro reef skimmer that is pulling sum nearly black goopy tar from my water so it's obviously doing it's job but do I want to do this non stop or in increments??? Please help???

   don't stop skimming, leave the thing o all day and night, if it for some reason stops having any gunk, (proteins) then turn it off clean the skimmer, and turn it back on.
