Has anyone put a cleaner shrimp and a fire shrimp in the same tank or know someone who has and had success and what size of tank were they in.

As far as I know they are basically the same. I keep both together and they do really well. The skunk cleaner shrimp although cheaper is always out and about and can be seen most of the day. The fire shrimp on the other hand tends to be much more elusive. It's more expensive and tends to hide a lot more.
If I notice a fire shrimp in someone's tank I feel as if they carry more prestige but that's just how I feel and has no bearing on reality lol.

  6. Picked up a fire shrimp at fall fest because I missed having one in the tank, he was significantly smaller than my cleaner shrimp yet still antagonized it whenever the cleaner got within reach.
They were in a 58 and both hung out in the same area. After two weeks I returned to find my cleaner in half with a molted shell in the corner so I guess the new fire shrimp took advantage of his vulnerable state. But as stated above, if it's a longer tank I'm sure there is much less of a risk.

They both steal food from corals day or night which ticks me off when I am feeding LPS with lights out....but they are cool creatures in their own right.

Yea i hate my cleaner shrimp he will wait till I feed the anemone then he will wait till the silvers idea is almost swallowed then he jumps on the nem and pulls it out it makes me moody!

Try target feeding the shrimp first. If you keep him busy he is less likely to snag otherstuff!
