So I have a reefkeeper elite it is up to date on firm ware and my sl1 module is goofy it doesn't give me a pH reading and it says my orp is 1300+ but than I hook my computer up and it goes back to normal. I just replaced my ph probe a couple months ago thought that was the problem but that didn't fix anything. After I unhook my computer it's fine for a couple hours the ph goes right back to error and the orp goes up. It also runs my ato abs works perfectly and also controls the temp and that's right on. So any insight would be helpful. I know I should have brought an apex.

Sometimes you will get bad readings if there is stray voltage or interference in your system or a bus cable with a bad connection. You can try unplugging the bus cables and reconnecting them to get a better connection. You can get a cup of tank water outside your aquarium and put the probes in it to see if stray voltage is an issue. If you have metal halide lights, keep the bus cables away from the ballast. You can turn then off and see if your probes read better. If none of these ideas works, the try posting in the Digital Aquatics support forum.

Sounds like you might have a ground loop issue. The sl1 can have this issue the SL2's use galvanic isolation so it is not a issue. Are you using a grounding probe, use titanium heaters or a chiller somewhere in your system by chance?

The grounding probe, and titanium heater if it has a 3rd prong are both acting as grounding probes I can bet if you take the grounding probe out of the water and unplug your heater the problem will go away. The only other way around it is to use the SL2 module.

not sure about the SLX it would depend if it uses galvanic isolation
