I noticed today that up by the top of the 24gal aquapod I have there is a small crack. it's probably about 3mm long on the curved part of the glass towards the black rim. My question is, should I basically call this tank done? It's been up and running for about 3 monthsish and hasn't had any issues.

I eyeballing a 40b and a 20l from petco to turn into a system, but was wondering what people would do if they were in my shoes. And I don't have a lot of moolah to spend, right now about 60 bucks on a diff tank.

    Any insight would be fantastic.

Is it an acrylic tank? I know you said "glass" but just checking.

I would be worried. Cracked glass tends to fail catastrophically. Acrylic would more likely progress slowly. Sounds like a manufacturer defect, either that, or the tank got dropped. Was it brand new out of the box when you set it up? It's possible, if it was a defect, that it was smaller and has progressed to the point where you are just now noticing it.

Either way, I would not wait long to empty it, or it will probably empty itself at an inopportune moment.

Yep, your screwed. Unless the crack happens to arc back to the top and terminates. It won't so don't gamble on it.

Before you go nuts make sure its not a fine wisp of silicone that can happen during manufacture. Sometimes they are so fine they look like a crack.

It's definitely a crack. I tried scraping at it with a razor blade and it went no where.

b_braz I'm gonna send you a text, if you can send me pics of you 30gal.
