has anybody use 1 of these if so what was the experience , Im going to pick up one looking for reviews, you know buying junk equipment just as bad as not having it all , any other feasible suggestions would be cool, the problem is my tank is 6 foot ,im running 4 1400koralia pumps now

how many people have tired these wp40s and how many want to buy one

  4. There is a HUGE thread about the WP40s on Reef Central, and there are some great review on the product so far. Personally I would not buy them solely for the fact that I already own MP40s and I am in love with them. For that price though it cant be beat, you will never find a fully controllable pump that cheap.

I got one of the WP40s and it makes a heck of a wave in my 120 2x2x4. Too bad it ticks off my elephant ear leather when it's running, but I might need to just re-position it.

Having never owned a wavemaker, I don't have anything to compare it to. I also haven't tried modding it by hooking up my Arduino to it. Haven't had enough time to figure out what needs to be done.

But for $111 shipped it was one heck of a deal IMO.

The rumor is that if you catch them "out of stock" they go into "pre-order" and there is a discount, and depending on how you select components, you can get them for a lot less. Like $80 or something.

They're pretty close to a rip off combination of Tunze and Ecotech from what I can tell. Pretty loud too IMO. In the basement below the tank, when it's running on W1 mode I can hear it clearly. Sounds like a breast pump according to my wife

I have a smartwave and it doesn't make the wave effect like you would hope . If any pumps make noise when plugging them in, then it can get annoying. I recently just converted to Sicce Voyager pumps to stop the clicking sound and finally tank makes no noise at all. All in all I like the alternate flow of pumps but would not call it a wave motion.
