Off the subject a bit, did I see a "domino" damsel in that tank? if so, I would consider removing it, They are extremely aggressive! I have yet to see one not turn out that way.
    Just my opinion Nik.
    Nice job BTW!

Thanks, John. I have 2 in my tank, but then again I have some very large fish. I will try and catch him next time I am in there.

    UPDATE!!

I added more coral! Now about 20 pieces in there. They are doing great! I finally got the phosphates down to .02 /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif and they now have a hannah checker.

One of they AI lights started to overheat and the fan would not come on. AI thinks the board is bad and are sending another one.

The chiller is on the way.

    Here are some pics.

Also, I hope to have a webcam up by the middle of June. Just have to figure out how to get it connected to the internet.

Well alot has happened in 3 weeks.

I will start with the additions.

I got the chiller and we got it hooked up and running. Thanks GIRS!!

I added 6 pieces of coral from the DSM area frag meet. Thanks to Matt and Sponge (TerrY) for donating pieces.

Both power supplies on the AI's gave out. AI sent replacements after 2 weeks of troubleshooting. They really are GREAT to work with and a big thanks to Justin!

Also, thanks to Eric and Amber for lending me the LED fixture in the meantime.

We did lose all the clown fish (12) to Brooklynella (clownfish disease). After talking to Kirk at Central Campus we are going to go with a single pair which he will donate along with an RBTA for them. I am going to try a school of anthelia instead. More to come on that. All the other fish and corals are doing great.

I am dealing with Aiptasia and am going to use a wand to keep them at bay until Craig at ACC has some Nudis for me.

Well I think that about sums it up.

    Here are some pics. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

That's too bad about the clown fish, but everything else looks to be doing very good. Keep up the good work.

You have put ALOT of work and time into the tank Nick and it shows/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif It looks very good!! I'm sure you will get the fish thriving in the tank. That is so nice of Kirk and CC to donate more clowns and the Nem/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wow.gif Hopefully you will get the aiptasia under control quickly with the majano wand. (I really like the Aiptasia-X from Red Sea, FWIW) The chiller will definitely help the tank as I'm sure the area gets very hot in the summer./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif Thanks to the BoD for donating the chiller!!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif It looks like there is a great selection of corals in the tank also Nick./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/w00t.gif I look forward to seeing them grow!! Let me know if I can be of further assistance especially if more frags are needed! Keep the updates coming!!

Lost a small favia from the dsm meeting got flipped over.

That's about it today. Looking fwd to adding a pair of clowns and RBTA from Kirk at CC.

/Portals/0/IMG_9946_1.JPGWell I just found out today that I have to tear down the tank and move all of the livestock and rock to my house. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif They are removing Asbestos again!!. I will be moving everything in the tank to my house and putting it in a 90 Gallon non reef ready tank. Will a canister filter support this for 6+ weeks without a skimmer?

That's terrible Nik! When are you tearing it down? I can help you, just let me know when! The canister filter should support it. If nutrients start to rise, just do more frequent/larger WC's. I think it will be fine.

I have an empty 20L, heater, lights, etc and some buckets and a couple totes too. Let me know what I can bring. I could pull my LifeReef skimmer out of the frag system if you's like...it would handle everything. As I said, just let me know/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If theres any way I can help please let me know. I'm looking for things to do with all my free time this week and next week. I have a DC to AC converter (400 watts) that hooks to a car battery or similar and should power a cannister, powerheads, or even two large heaters. I also have two battery powered aerators, several heaters, buckets, an extra 5g with drilled overflow, and an Eheim Cannister I could bring. If you need some place to keep extra water, I have 5, 5 gallon jugs as well. If anything is useful let me know and I'll be there! 815-520-1896 or PM.

They are going to help sponsor the Smouse tank and make sure we have everything we need to keep this tank going strong! Please help support a great sponsor of this tank and local fish clubs around the country, including GIRS events!!/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif
