    Exactly what the title says! I see meetings in other areas but none in ours...... When is the Des Moines area gonna have one?

    Yes I would like to do a diy food. .. or frag demo.... something. ... I haven't seen anything posted for a meeting for awhile I saw the tank tour but seems like there is no more info on that yet....

    I would be down for a frag demo.. I have two extra bags of diy food if anyone wants them, 5 dollars a piece or trade

    We just started discussing this last week. I do not think we can do I food one till June. Waiting to hear from central on it. We could do a fragging demo in may. Thoughts. Also I will buy any food that people have if armydog does not.

    Now what I saw a little over a year ago I think it was iowa city not sure though but im pretty sure the club provided some dragon soul favia and then after the demo they either gave it to everyone or sold it for really cheap to everyone. ..... im just remembering at the macna meeting it was said we will have all this cool **** for the club ie better meetings and stuff because of all the money that will be made and I have yet to see it....... lets do a fragging demo.... club provides something cool to frag like they did in the other area

    Good ideas guys. I just finished posting a thread on the DM regional forum announcing that Chris C. is the new Des Moines Regional trustee. The transistion occured just last week. I know that Chris is interested in your ideas. Lets give him a week or two and I'm sure you'll be seeing something about a meeting for April.


    To recap: The events for this year have been:


    January: Holiday Party


    February: Business meeting


    March - nothing - a Tank tour was attempted, but didn't get enough interest generated


    April - Spring Fest

    I can host a fragging demo some Sunday morning from 11-2. if you want I have lots of corals I need to frag. ill even throw in a free frag of yellow stag for everyone

    I just looked at some colonies we can fag at seascapes. We will do this and they will be either free or cheap. We are also looking at buying fine frag equipment.

    Hey guys,

    I just took over as trustee and would love the opportunity to plan meetings. I will be setting up different polls to get input from the club members on what they would like to see happen.

    Well while planning is going on..... matt can we do a little meeting at your house or nik go to iowa pet and do a fragging demo...... and thats a great list of things that have put on so far this year but how bout we do things like the other areas it seems like they actually get together and do stuff instead of it just being attempts or shows...... like lets actually learn something I know how to frag but not everything and that is an involved meeting that would be awesome.... or hey proper dosing meeting... something not just a business meeting. .... ijs this is one of the reasons I didnt pay my dues cause the other areas do the good stuff and the des moines area seems to either go through trustees like water changes or we ATTEMPT something and it doesnt happen... hey ill even get involved and help thats the reasoning for me putting up this post in the first place to get the ball rolling on it.... no im not trying to start something either im just very direct and to the point thats the ranger in me....

    I agree we do need one. But I must correct you we do NOT go thru trustees. I was trustee all last year and Pete has been trustee this year, unfortunately he took a new job in another state so we are handing it over to Chris.

    We WILL have a meeting in 2-3 weeks and it will be educational, fun and rewarding. Look for more info by Monday.

    That probably came off the wrong way sorry.... just when I was a member in 2010 and 2011 and some of 2012 pretty much all the meetings either got canceled or it was diy food or just never planned......... im really hoping this process changes and we actually start doing stuff in the Des Moines area like the other areas! Thanks hope to see something very soon up for a meeting......

    No problem bud! /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif And I totally agree and take some of the responisbillity for not having enough in 2012. NO excuses!!


    This year has been full of us actually doing stuff the BOD needs to do which most of you do not see. Like planning the business meeting, planning spring Fest ETC.


    We have held all meetings this year with the exception of March. Where there was very little intreset in doing a tank tour.

    Possibile maybe. I doubt if we could do anything at seasxapes on such short notice. We just need to give everyone a chance to plan for it.

    Hey matt if you want help fragging that stuff let me know... you dont have to give me a free frag.. its just something to do and see how you frag compared to how I do lol
