Yesterday evening I stopped over at a fellow member's house to pick up some livestock due to his leaking tank. Included with my haul were a selection of Mexican Turbo snails, I figured I needed to replenish my stock since my hermits seem to like their shells a lot.

After getting everybody acclimated and happy in the tank, I decided to call it a night. Retiring to bed, I was doing a little reading when I heard dripping/splashing coming from the living room.

Now, my fish tend to not cause much commotion on the top of the tank. Being concerned, I went out to check the tank to make sure everything was alright.

There was water on the floor directly in front of the tank, and dribbling down the front glass. Check for leaks...nothing. I hear the splash again and my foot gets wet.

While looking through the tank with my phone's light, I notice that there is a massive swarm of hermit crab fry swimming around. I usually see this every month or so during nighttime checks, but this dwarfed previous spawns.

Also at the waterline, one of my turbos was 1/2 out of the water.

I notice that on my light, I actually had drops of slimy liquid filled with what appeared to be eggs. On my light! 7 inches above the water line.

I start taking photos and as I am doing this, I see this spurt of water shoot across the tank and onto the floor, originating from the snail.

Alright, video time. I start filming, capture the first 'spurt' while focusing on the stuff on my lights, and I captured a full 'spurt' a minute or two later. Going to try to remember to get it uploaded on YouTube today.

I've not been able to find anything detailing this sort of behavior in the brief amount of time I've researched. Has anyone had this happen? I know it was triggered due to different water conditions between the snail's previous home and its new one...but this is odd. Pretty cool, and I wanted to share.

So the snail was launching the eggs/water out of the water and onto the light and everywhere else they landed?

I should have posted a disclaimer about the non excitement until the end and then my subsequent foul language, I tend to curse when excited

You can actually see a blast streak across the tank in the beginning, as I'm focusing up on the light.

Around 1am the snail started shooting water across-and-over the tank.
