So we are cleaning the tank and moving stuff around for new inventory. And we noticed that the frogspawns are kinda not doing well and noticed a deep purple Sponge on the branch. Is this choking out the spawns from growing or effecting them in any way?

I had something like this on a zoa frag once. I used peroxide dip and 3 dips later all gone. I also used a soft tooth brush and tweezers to pull off the big clumps. Not so sure you can/should proxy LPS though...

I had a yellow spong on the branches that turned out to be irritating the frogspawn. +1 on the dip.

That stuff can be pretty nasty.

I do know that most sponge cannot take air exposure. I would wrap the heads in brown paper towels, wet and let it sit out for 10 in or so. Repeat as needed.

Have you tried scrubbing with a tooth brush.
