Spring Fest 2011 Details - Yes it is already scheduled!

    Our 2011 Spring Fest will be held March 26th at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Walnut Building in Des Moines.
    Selling fees for hobbyists will be $35
    Admission
    will be $10 per person, $5 for members.  5 free raffle tickets for
    members in attendance.  Children 12 & under is free.

    Yes, we reserved it the next week. Its really nice to have a plan in place a year out. We are hoping maybe the Teamsters building will turn out the same way.

    Sanjay Joshi in real life is a Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State University. He has been a reef addict since 1992, and currently keeps several reefs aquariums at home including a 500G SPS dominated reef. He also co-manages the 500G aquarium at Penn State.
    He has published several articles in magazines such as Marine Fish and Reef Annual, Aquarium Frontiers, Aquarium Fish, and Advanced Aquarist. In addition he has been an invited speaker at several marine aquarium society meetings in the US and Europe. He received the MASNA award in 2006, for his contributions to the marine aquarium hobby.

    Mark Vera has been keeping marine aquariums for 19 years during which he has worked in virtually all capacities of the aquarium industry, collection, import, retail and service. Part of his various personal and public research projects Mark spent two years breeding H. reidi and formerly had the opportunity to serve as President of MOFIB, the Marine Ornamental Fish & Invertebrate Breeders Association. Being an active Divemaster Mark travels extensively diving lakes, rivers, and oceans throughout the world and is a regular aquarium diver at the world’s aquarium, the John G. Shedd Aquarium. Between travels Mark owns and operates a specialty aquarium installation and service company and contributes to C… The Journal of Aquatic Science. Mark is also the creator of the Phyto2 and Zoo2 live plankton product lines and continues research on the value of Plankton in the captive aquarium as well as refugium and natural filtration design.

    I am very excited to be attending my first Spring Fest, or Frag Fest in general, this year! From what I have heard and read these events seem amazing.

    Two updates:
    Seller tables are $40
    Speaker times may change as we try to come up with a system where the crowd doesn't drown out the speakers. Any ideas on this are welcome. Not sure how well having them before and after the event will work out.
