    Hello GIRS!

So I started processing stacks of material for the Spring Fest tanks. Just in case you didn't see my post in the Frag Fest forum, I'm bringing 4 sumps and two display tanks.

    Sumps:

    32x16x15

    Dual filters sock inlet

Center chamber for mud/rubble or skimmer

    Bubble baffles

    Return chamber

Main body of the sumps with be 3/8" clear acrylic. Two of the internal baffles will also be 3/8" with the others being 1/4". The top and bottom will be 1/4" acrylic. Top will be a 1 1/2" euro brace, perimeter only.

I've got some special acrylic coming that will be used for the top and bottom as well as several internal parts /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

    125W RR Display:

    48x24x24

This tank is being constructed with 1/2" acrylic for all sides, the back will be black. Top will be clear eurobrace with a 3" perimeter and a 6" crossbrace.

I'm going to include an overflow of some kind but unsure of the design at this point...more to come.

    50L Display:

    48x18x13

This aquarium will be constructed 3/8" acrylic for the front, back, sides and bottom. Back panel will be black acrylic. The top will be a standard black aquarium trim with a crossbrace and the bottom will have the same trim around it.

I may be building an overflow in this tank as well.

Here are a couple pictures of the material stacks!! Later today I will finish edge routing the vertical panels for the display tanks and start bonding things together. More pictures to come!

Here are couple progress shots from the 50L build. I think I've decided to leave an overflow off of this tank.

Already bonded the four vertical panels, here the bottom is going on:

And here is a distance shot...really just an excuse to post a car picture in the middle of the build thread /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/w00t.gif

I love the Spec B subarus, I have a thing for rare cars. I've bought a lot of my car parts from Jeremy and JBA, including my cars cams, springs and retainers. My supra definitely isn't a cornering machine but my next vehicle will definitely be going the road course route.

Awesome Stu! My last "Jeremy List" was almost all suspension/handling upgrades...it's like a disorder.

Flew to Colorado to buy this one and drove it home, def was hard to find but I wanted that bulletproof 6spd and the STI components. Was bone stock with some highway miles on it...couldn't be happier with it!

    Small change of plans...
The 50L will have a clear eurobrace top made out of the same 3/8" material. Full perimeter with one cross brace...no black trims on the tank.

On another note, the special sump material I ordered is on a truck and will deliver to the shop today. These are going to be VERY sexy sumps /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif

Well Spring Fest didn't go exactly as planned. I worked myself to exhaustion and was only there for about the last hour...I apologize to anyone that may have been looking for me at my vendor table.

Here is the sump that went into the raffle...in case you didn't get a chance to see it in person:

I have 3 more of these sumps available. Full retail on this would be $380 plus tax but I'm still going to offer the Spring Fest price of $300 each if anyone is interested. I would like to offer them out to members before I do any listings on Ebay.

I will also have the larger display tanks for sale as well. I'll get some pics up with pricing for those as soon as I finish trimming and polishing. I spent the rest of my weekend recovering. I'm getting too old for overnighters!!

My work computer doesn't like the GIRS posting sqript so I tried to use IMG tags in the quick reply.

LOL. Good thing I asked then. haha. I was thinking it would be a sweet sump for a 40 gal breeder. If it fits under it in a stand.

It would be! and if that .0000001 is a deal breaker I can take a belt sander to the bottom.
