Springfest

    Any chance Springfest 2014 will be in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City or Quad Cities area this time ?


    I know its early but I figured I would throw it out there....

    It will be in Des Moines.
    But Fall fest 2014 will probably be in one of those regions.

    Bring it back to teamsters in cr! Only minutes away from my house lol. Buy coral go home and float. Repeat. Repeat. Haha!

    Is there a reason why its in Des Moines every year?

    Because the Des Moines area members arrange it, and having it in Des Moines moves it around out of just the eastern part of the state. If we had both fests in the eastern regions then people would ask why its not in Des Moines.

    Spring fest is guaranteed every year in Desmoines and Fall fest will be at 1 of the other 2 areas....
    Just having to drive a couple hours to attend these fests kind of affects if people can go to them..... Having to drive that far weighs heavy on that decision...

    Like this year the Quadcities group has real long drives for both...

    Just like to see more options....

    If your dedicated you will drive/carpool. I used to drive from Phoenix to Costa Mesa for Reef-a-Palooza and I think Des Moines is a tad bit closer.

    Neither fest is guaranteed anywhere, that is just usually how it works out. And if both fests were on the east side of the state Des Moines members would have "a really long drive" for both fests.


    The option is there for any region to host any fest, fall or spring. The regional members just have to step up for the planning and present the plan to the BOD for the OK.

    Its all about who is going to step up and run it.

    If no one from CR OR QC is willing to run it, then it has to be held somewhere else that has people who are willing.

    The DM people cant be expected to run a fest in the QC

    That's right. It boils down to who will do the work involved for the Fest. We didn't have many people helping at SpringFest this year/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif (Me included since I was several hours late!) Des Moines members will have to pitch in or they might just find themselves having to drive a LONG way!! lol

    The date for Spring fest should be announced at this years fall fest.

    It is our honor to be able to host it in Des Moines. As the trustee here I am working hard to finalize the details of the fest so it can be announced at Fall Fest. We love having the opportunity to host it, but had to present the option to the BOD. As soon as each fest is over, a region has to step forward and propose to host it. If you want it in your area, someone has to step up and make an offer to host!

    Look forward to being in Waterloo this fall and in Des Moines in the Spring!
