I am leaning more towards a chalice but hard to tell.  The bumps make me think chalice.

I was thinking a Chalice myself because of how irregular the tissue was and also how thin the tissue was, but I have no experience with these corals so hard for be to tell.

No I gotta disagree with all of you guys, it's much more obscure than a chalice, not an acan. It is an un-specified species of Pectinia. An LPS.

no....maybe its a chalice...lol idk I could go either way on that one. It's either an undeveloped Pectinia or a chalice of some kind.

I actually got this today from Bill at the Fish Shack in Manchester. I know he has had this for close to 6 months now. I've been eying it since he got it in and have seen it grow over this time and is now 2x its original size but its all been encrusting type growth. Looking at it now under the actinic lighting its a dark purple body with red/pink mouths and thin green stripes that go from the center of the coral to the edges. Can't get a decent picture under those lights.

I'd say Chalice for sure! As far as the name who the hell knows. Everybody calls everything different names. Defenetely looks good though!
