I dont think it is a posc as the base is really encrusting. Possibly an acro?

A milli is my guess. It's not a pocclipora.

  4. The skeleton is very smooth and no real texture with rounded ends. Doesn't have the little cups holding the polyps like a Milli or the definitive circle at the growing tip. I can tell Milli's because of the because of the little cups that hold the hairy polyps. ;)
Just trying to decide if this is worth keeping.
Was supposed to be this....

It's definitely a acropora. Other than that no one will be able to tell with any certainty untell it gets some size to it.

  6. I am not arguing with Fishbrain on the acro thing. However, it might be worth taking a look at some pics of a German Blue Digi. I know it's a bit thick for a digi but the flowery type polyps with that shade of blue are indicative of that species. Could just be the light hasn't quite brought it around yet. I've got one like it and over time it ended up looking like this. Hope it helps!

very hard to say, it will be interesting in seeing what it will turn into.

The reason I say acro and not posc is the way it is encrusting the base

What is the name of that milli?

  9. Looks as if DSpence thought he might be getting a Sunset Milli. I'd speak with whoever sold it to me. Nothing wrong with the blue one but it's pretty tough to confuse the two.... Just sayin..

Probably a maricultured piece. They brown out and sometimes shift colors when we get them in our tanks.
I have bought pink with rainbow tips and they turned maroon almost purple no rainbow.

  11. Thanks everyone for your help. Was supposed to be "SD Rainbow Milli"....got several other "mistakes" in the order too.
Last night I was looking at my Digi and wondering if that's what it could be. Will be interesting to see if it colors up....
not thrill about paying $75 for a brown SPS. o_O

Coralreefer2110....it does have the flower look like the photo you posted. I'll have to repost a photo in a couple of months and keep ya'll updated.

My Aquasd rainbow milli took a while to color up. It was brown when I got it. But it's nice.

  13. I guess I'd hold out hope if it even looked like a Milli.
How big is your Rainbow now? Do you ever frag it??

Crappy pic but you get the idea. I have never fragged it.

  15. That's nice! Looks like it's growing well for you. How big was the frag when you got it and how long have you had it?

Probably about the size of your frag. I think I have had it for year and a half probably longer. It would be bigger but it went through a near tank crash and a tank rescape. So I probably set it back quite a bit. It's a slow grower for me. But since I switched to halide lights everything seems to really be growing well.

That looks far more like a bottle brush acro than a milli, id definitely be in contact with the seller

I agree, looks like a turd bottle brush that never turn out to be much. Used to have a ton of them and they never did look good.

  19. I already had to argue with the seller for sending me a brown Alveopora that was supposed to be green with pink tips. I had never seen a green Alve with pink tips....and I still haven't. I sent him a photo of the SPS and got no reply.
