Don't raise your alk through dosing anything though. Once your salinity pulls back up to 35 PPT you are going to be on the higher side on alk (near 10 dkh). I'd just focus on raising salinity 1-2 PPT per day until you're back in line, then see where your params are sitting.

Well I'm happy to report my salinity is back up to "not horrible" levels. And with it, other items are rising as well.

    Mg 1200ppm
    Alk 8.0 DKH
    Ca 390ppm
    NO3 5ppm
    PH4 35ppb
    Salinity 1.023

Increase in nitrates is due to me using an old test kit before and getting a new one now. Low PO4 is from doing 5 gal water changes every day. This is an old tank so I assume my PO4 will double

Another Day another tick up in Salinity!

    Mg - 1350
    Alk - 7.0 DKH
    Ca - 400ppm
    NO3 - did not test
    PO4 - 27ppb
    Salinity - 1.024

Had an issue over the weekend where a Kessil light died on me, so I was able to light only one half of the tank at a time. Got the replacement today from Kessil and now have both lights working. Did notice that I have a small brown SPS (that's 50% covered by zoas) bleaching from the base up. I'm wondering if the rapid swings in parameters are causing it stress and the lack of light over a couple days probably didn't help.

Additionally, my green slimer still has white/bleach spots on its branchesbut the polyps on it are a very bright neon green. Hoping with more acceptable levels and constant light now, that it'll regain it's color. In the past it's always been fairly bulletproof.

.14 is kinda high if it's sudden, otherwise if ya don't have a ground probe, that might be a wise addition...
    Hope things are doing better!

Things are generally better, I have a red cap that is slowly starting to bleach out from the base but everything else is fine for the moment. Unsure on why the red cap is dieing, everything seems fine and things are testing right.

I'll look into a ground probe for future upgrades.

    Have you checked potassium?

Could be? I don't have a test kit for K. It is hard to O/D on potassium, so I could put in a dose of it......

I'm wondering if it's just because the red cap started going downhill that it has to keep going downhill...... maybe it's more sensitive to Alk changes then the others? I wonder why my green cap (on opposite side of the tank) is okay?

The reason I said potassium is.... mine turned a grayish whitish color one time. And I sent a triton test in and potassium was 300. I brought it back to 380-400 and everything looked good. But I have to dose potassium weekly in my system to keep up.
But that's not your case judging from your pic.

fading caps is a sign of low K, in fact one guy told me that it's a reliable indicator.

You can buy water Potassium Chloride softener salt and dissolve some, agitate for a while, then drip into the tank through dry GFO (to get rid of silicates and other impurities). That's what Justin Credable does (talked to him about it after SF15)

Chris - I have a potassium test kit you can borrow as well as brightwell potasium if you need to bump it up. I test potassium about every 3 months. You can pick up when you get the club par meter if you want.

Also an algae scrubber does tend to suck down potassium. This is why I mentioned the bag of salt. It works, 50lb bag is $25 at Home Depot.

Thanks @Dave@Dave ! I look forward to adding some Potassium and testing. I'm sure it probably is lower than usual now that I have my other nutrients in line.

Also glad @Bud@Bud mentioned the algae scrubber because I was about to accuse it of being a culprit!
