Anyone have a stand that would support a 210?  Please let me know.  Also looking into building one but not sure I want to take the time and hassle of doing so right now.

Yea I figure it is pretty easy just slammed with time due to the wedding and all that jazz. Also trying to figure out if I want 2X6 or 4X4s for the stand yet.

All that is really needed is 2x4 most commercial stands are just 1" plywood. Remember a 210g tank isn't actually that heavy when u compare it to woods structural properties like compression strength

I used the general stand blueprint from this website. I have a 180, and I chose to use the 2x6's. Those 4x4's are generally not treated and if they twist, man youre in for some trouble. Plus the 4x4's just look tacky.

If I was you, I'd go the 2x6's, as they look better, and you can guarantee that it will last. I built mine for like 100$ in lumber. It took me a day to build mine, and I'm more than pleased!

I don't know what kind of time restraints you have, but I could build it for you, if you need it, and don't have time to do it yourself.

I must be missing a thread cuz I don't see anything about a blueprint for stands on here anywhere. Could you drop a link in here for me Mike?

I was going to mount my stand to the wall as well. So I am thinking the 2X6 will be better. I don't plan on getting a different tank after this one so that's the plan so far.

I'm searching high and low for those prints, someone chime in if you know what I'm talking about.

I know the blueprint off the top of my head, just drawing it would be the biggest challenge for me lol. Let me see what I can find

I was also digging through threads on Reef Central to find the prints over there but no dice on that either.

lol I couldn't even find it with the mess they ave over there in those forums. As you can see, that stand blueprint is perfect for what ever the size you need. I used 2x4's for the bottom and 2x6's for the sides and tops, with 2x4's on the inside of every corner, and 2 braces centered on the top.

Simple build really, but let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I actually wired in 3 GFCI's into my stand with switches on the side to control anything I need really, before I bought my apex lol. Still looks cool tho!

I have one of these I made at home and one that AC&C made for a client. Both are the most awesomest stands ever. As far as strength. Mine is ugly looking, the other is painted and covered nicely.

Oh yeah and really, really stupid easy to build. #1 thing to have / borrow (check Habitat for Humanity free rental or get one from a buddy/rent one) is a chop saw to make all the "pink" members the same length. Finding straight wood for the top and bottom frame is nice too. Use Fir not Pine for that (more $, worth it). Other than that, wood glue, deck screws, and rock on.

Not seeing a PM kyle lol

Yea my father-in-law will let me use his chop saw. I was thinking about checking and seeing if Habbitat has any scrap wood to help with the cost factor. Probably use the scrap more for the screw boards than anything else.

Should I put foam under it? Was planning on having a plywood top to the stand for the tank to sit on.

I think different tank manufacturers have different needs as far as foam. Some stand by it, while others do not. I've hard it can do some harm, and I've heard it's the only way to go. As far as my tank goes, I do not use foam.
I'd check with your tank manufacturer and go from there. Just my two cents raven.

no foam under a rimmed tank, ever. Only on rimless glass tanks and maybe on acrylic. There are opinions on both sides of that, putting an acrylic tank on top of 2 layers of 3/4" ACS as long as they are perfectly flat is fine, foam is OK, but thick neoprene is best but $$
