Still need skimmer help

    I have narrowed my skimmer choices down to 2.  Advice please:
    option 1 Reeflo Orca 200 with mag 4 pump.
    option 2 Aqua medic 5000 single 4ft version. 
    Opinions would be great as I know very little about either of these.

    I would say that the reeflow orca is a much better skimmer. I have had aqua medics in the past and they never seemed to work for me.

    I agree with the other two...the reeflo would be a better skimmer. How big of a tank are you running?

    The tank is a 180 with a 43 gallon sump. I am assuming there is around 200 gallons of water if you consider sand and rock etc... Do you think the ORCA 200 would be an appropriate sized skimmer?

    I am not a fan of Aqua medic equipment, it is usually cheaply built IMO. The Reeflo equipment I have seen is built very well so that is definitely my choice. Did you take a close look at the Reef Octopus line?  Matt the Ninja in Des Moines just bought one of their cone skimmers and it is a beast! He is getting about 5 gallons of skimmate a week but his system is 400-500 gallons. If you got a smaller version of his I think you could save some $$'s and have a hell of a skimmer.
