    Hello folks,
I am almost done setting up my 144 gallon half moon tank with 75gallon sump. The next thing on the list of things to do is to get my stock list in order now. Its been some time since I have done a reef tank, and this will be my first tank of 58gallon. I am really at a loss of what I can get away with. Below is what I have for a stocking list now, but I am completely up for suggestions. Thanks for any and all help [IMG]

    Redfin Flasher Wrasse
    White Tail Bristletooth Tang ?

Is this a stocking list for the 58 gallon tank or the 144?

I've never been known to side with the tang police but 3 convict tangs and a bristletooth tang seems like it may be a problem. I'd consider either 2 convicts or a bristletooth and something like a yellow tang introduced at the same time. I think it would be a stretch to do more than two tangs in a 144.

I agree, it is not the size of the tank so much but the dimensions.

Defintaly will remove the muti tangs from this list. What I'm really looking at trying to achive is lots of small fish, and maybe a school of something that will add some nice color. The only true reef setups I have done have been nanos and being that I am really still new Im having a hard time wrapping my mind around what I can complete, with out going over board. I will update my stocking list with a few newer ideas, I would truly appricate any input and thank you guys for the help so far.

With a tank that big you could go with a school of about 5 firefish, and you might even want two diamond watchman gobies. The clown goby and neon goby will disappear in that tank. I don't know much about the horned or orangethroat blennies. It would be cool to see a pair of jawfish instead of the one. If you're looking for color, you can get a school of anthias, just make sure their well fed for the first few months. You could also add a few more fairy wrasses, they're always beautiful! My current favorite fish is my purple tilefish, they are super energetic, colorful, and fun to watch. I can pet mine while my hands are in the tank and it doesn't even swim away.

Let's see some pics of the tank!

adampottebaum thanks for the response, I will for sure look at the purple titlefish and more fairy wrasses thanks for the input! I have pic of it on my phone but I'm currently at work and cant access photobucket. When I get off work tonight I will for sure get some pictures of it up. I had the stand custom made and could not be any more happy with the way it all turned out. I have to plumb it up yet this weekend (which I have no idea yet how to do lol ) and will hopefully start the filling process Sunday /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif I am so pumped about that this tank, it took over a year to get just the stand so its been sitting toying with me everyday and now that the time is near I’m like a kid on Christmas morning. Only problem is that I started out only roughly 3 years ago now, and that was with nanos so its almost like being a complete noob all over again trying to figure out everything on this size of a tank.

Here is the orginal thread when I was trying to sell the tank (glad i didnt /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif ) I think I put so pictures of the tank in the tread of when I first got it, but my job blocks all imagine sights so im not sure if they are still in the thread or not. Either way I will post some new pics with it on the stand and stand and rock.
