Still in the building stage of my new fish only tank, finishing up the
stand now. Being that I have had the tank for 3 months sitting dry I
have gone though like a thousand different ideas and think I might have
things narrowed down now, but want to make sure that I am not missing anything that could be a problem.

So the tank is a 144 gallon half moon tank with a 75 gallon sump. It
will have a refugium on it and has a big'o skimmer as well. Here is what
I have planned so far, please let me know if I will be asking for
trouble or if I am missing something.

Fish that I already have that will be going into tank:

    Maroon Clown

    Huma Huma Triggerfish

    Dragon Wrasse

    Planned fish:

    Threadfin Lookdown

    Harlequin Tuskfish

    Zebra Morey

Fish I am unsure about, dont know if they will get along:

    Black Volitan lion

    Freckled Hawkfish

    maybe some sort of tang?

Does this look over stocked? Got any better suggestions? This will be my
first tank of this size, and with that it has opened up more options,
so if there is something neat I could get in here I would love to hear
about it. Thank you for all your help /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/cool.gif

lookdowns get huge you know. I would do an angel instead personally. Tangs and triggers can have their spats sometimes, probably best to introduce the trigger first.

Overstocked? yes, you better have a hell of a skimmer! lol

144 is to small for a lookdown you would need a much bigger tank for that

be prepaird to pay a arm and a leg for the harlequin tusk. The one I just got cost me $225 from liveaquaria.com but it was worth every penny.

I posted this over at RC as well, and have since changed the stocking. Let me know if anyone sees any issues with this grouping.

    Harlequin Tuskfish

Any other suggestions? I would not mind trying a Tang in here of some sort but not sure of what will work?
Fishbrain, yeah I have talked to Tim at seascapes and got a quote on one. They are pricey for sure! lol but they appear to be worth it. Every post I have found from someone that has one, really like them. Its for sure one that I will need to get./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/cool.gif

you could also do a snowflake eel instead of a zebra the snowflakes are a little more docile and more colorful also go for a yellow tang to add some vibrent yellow to the mix

I would say go with the zebra over the snowflake.  They are very docile and do not go after fish as they are crustacean eaters.  They do not have teeth like other eels, they actually have more molar like plates in their mouths.  They do get a little larger but I can say we have never had a problem with ours and it is keep with all different types of fish and corals to include little chromis.

well I guess it all depends on the eels personality I had a zebra years back and it was mean attacked everything in sight. howver I have had several snowflake who were perfectly behaved in fact I have 2 12" snowflakes now and they don't bother anyfish I even have a 1" 6 line wrase with them and they have never touched him. I used to have a snowflake ove 24" and he was great joel has him now
