Subscribed updates in a txt?

    So is it possible to get forum section posts sent to your phone via txt.  I dont have internet on my phone so it would be nice to get a txt on sections like buy/sell/trade.

    this would be an interesting feature. Might be easier to have alerts go to email than SMS though. Maybe we could work something out. I'll check with JB and see if it is possible. May need some more interest on the feature before we could get it implimented though.

    I was at one time looking at doing Blaclberry Messenger Groups but I couldnt really get it established well on the deivce and making it where that everyone could really benifit from it. I've also thought about maybe setting up a Jabber Chat Server for the club but we have chat built into the site.

    if you subscribe to a topic or forum it does get sent to your email when something new is added.

    that is true but I think the feature they are looking for is if a new topic is added to a forum catergory to get an alert on that

    then you subscribe to that forum. for instance anytime someone posts in the QC area I get email.

    What i wish we had was the ability to subscribe with a cell phone so you could get ALL updates to that particular thread or forum section. So basically like having a second subscribe button just for a txt or the one subscribe button with the option of email, txt or both. Not sure if that's possible. Kinda like how Facebook does with its updates but im guessing without (would be better with but for difficulty may interfere) the ability to reply like that.

    hmm i understand you now. I'll talk to JB and see what we could do. Not sure how fast something would roll out though or if it is even possible.
