I am setting up my 90 again and have a quick question. I have all the crushed coral substrate I used before. I have allowed it to compleley dry out. I have rinsed it with ro until it comes out clean and clear and allowed it to dry again. Would it be safe to use this again?
     Thank You, Shaun

    Sure

But from my experience, I would use Aragamax or some other super small grain sand /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

    Shaun,
That's a debatable topic.  The same question was asked a while back (well, more specifically about sand vs. crushed coral - the thread can be found here) and the general club consensus was yes...but it really depends on how good you are able to clean it.  A link from Anthony Calfo said no.  So I hope these threads allow you to better research this and make your own call.

I think I will just get new substrate. Just do not want to take the chance reusing old stuff. Thanks for the input, Shaun

That was the same conclusion that I came to.  It's a little costly, but not nearly as much as the damage that it could do.
