Thanks to everyone that ventured out in the crappy weather today to join us on the tank tour. And to the people that volunteered to open up your houses and your tanks to us it is very much appreciated. Some very awesome setups, and seeing them motivates me to get moving on my tank overhaul.
The "Best tank" gift certificate to Anemones Clowns and Corals went to Alex. Not a big poster in the forums, but he has an awesome 200 gallon deep dimension. Some very cool artificial rock structures, and top notch equipment. A very well thought out and beautiful looking setup for sure. Now he has a reason to head up to AC&C, check out the store and get some new goodies for the tank.

Hopefully someone will post up some pics of all the tanks. I know there were at least camera phone shots taken by several people.

I have a few pictures, but they are mainly "behind the scenes" photos.

I did, however, get some short videos. I am uploading them to YouTube right now. I will get rid of the background talking, rename them, and post links a little later today.

I just had to re-upload the short videos as I tried to use YouTube's "stabilization" feature, and it really struggled with all of the stuff moving around in the water. That was after I was done with tags, descriptions, audio replacements...

I need to make some dinner (living off of the cheese and crackers from Alex's place) and then the family wants to watch a movie in the home theater.

I will post links in a few hours.

Here is a picture of Jeremy's tank.

OK. So the pork chops are on the grill, so I thought I would get the links out here. I hope these work. They are all pretty short.

Oh, and my wife loves tangs, so I took more video of David's tank for her benefit, but thought that I would post all of the videos.

Oh, and don't forget to watch them in HD. I would have edited my previous post, but too much time has passed.

Big thanks to everyone who made the tank tour possible. It was really helpful for me and it was nice to put faces to the names I see here.

The pictures don't help give a size perspective.

For example, Alex's skimmer was quite big.
David's current sump is huge, and his new sump is large too, but awesome (I should have taken a picture).
The tanks in the last picture at Casey's are two 40 gallon breeders side-by-side on the top, and a 75 gallon on the bottom.

The plumbing at Alex's and Casey's was crazy (in a cool way). David and Jeremy have the sumps right near their tanks since they are built into the wall and have rooms behind them, where Alex and Casey plumbed everthing down to their basements.

I wish I could have done something like that. I've got a 40 gallon breeder crammed under my 120 gallon RR DT. I can't have a hiden ATO, or any real storage space because of it. My tank is in my basement and there are no rooms nearby that could easily (or even difficultly) be plumbed to.

Thanks for the videos and the pics Nick.
My whole idea with my tank room was easy access to equipment, and being able to hide the "junk" lol. The 125 is working just fine as a sump, but its too tall and getting in there to clean and do anything is a pain. It puts the algae scrubber right up under the tank in the stand and that's really awkward to pull out and clean. The new sump being wider and shorter should alleviate those issues. Plus I can rearrange some things and make room for frag tank and quarantine setup hopefully.
