So, yesterday I saw that my temp had dropped a few degrees. Nothing changed in the tank. I run 2 heaters in there attached to an APEX and they were both still functional. I dialed each heater up a notch and the temp returned to 78, but I just don't know what cause this. The temp had been rock solid for months up to that point.

    Any thoughts?

Is your temp probe reading right? I know it's not that uncommon for them to stop reading accurately. I've also had a really bad run with heaters recently. I think I've now gone thru 4 now within the last 6 months!

Yeah, but I also keep my old temp probe (little LCD thing) on the tank as well just to test such things. It read a temp drop consistent with what the Apex read.
