How do I know its ich? Is it definitive that when my fish looks like it was dusted with a salt shaker, it has ich?

Is this parasite capable of being dormant in my tank? This tends to be a debated subject.
If not how did my powder brown just get dusted with a salt shaker... Under salt water?

My fish had visual symptoms of ich one morning, gone by evening. What happened? Is the hosting stage capable of occurring that fast in typical reef temperatures or should I suspect something else?

Immune system abilities. If these cysts rupture and continue their cycle to the free float stage, what are the chances the tank has a true epidemic? How about the same fish. Could the initial host fish drink enough O.J. to fight off the next wave?

How long is standard treatment with copper?
Are there fish this is a bad idea with? What if I want to breed these fish?

How long is standard treatment with Hypo salinity?
What s.g. is too low for typical fish?

I think we should use this info and compile it into a resource page. I've considered putting time towards such things. Hard to remember parts of conversations and sometimes the little detail you don't write down ends up being the bigger idea.
