So I left for church this morning at 8:40 and got home at 10:30 - to find that we had no power in the house. Looks like it went out shortly after 9 am. Lucky for me it was not 100 degrees outside, nor was it -20 degrees. Also earlier this spring, I broke down and bought 3 of the battery operated airstone pumps that BRS was promoting in March or April. I put 2 on my display tank and 1 on my cube tank. My frag tank (20g) has 2 fishes in it. At Dave Roth's suggestion, I moved the airstone pump from the cube tank to the frag tank for about 20 minutes every couple of hours....

Power finally came back on at shortly have 4pm. All fish are doing fine.

Dave & Chris - thanks for your input and ideas!

I'm not sure, maybe the fish would still be ok even if I didn't have the airstone pumps, but I'm sure glad that I did so as to relieve my stress and worry about it!

Glad that you had no losses becker! That's really good to hear!
I my self am tossed up on the no power equals dead livestock debate... and of course it's hard to gather evidence as losses tend to make people flair like betas... so the o lyrics responses you tend to see are "power goes out everything dies because it happened to me once!"
I know that I personally have gone through multiple outages during the 90 and rolling black out times in California for conservation reasons... occasionally on 110 plus days! And have left tanks off for multiple days while working on plumbing or various other systems. I have also left fish in bags for a day.... (look I know it's terrible but with a family sometimes you get distracted... fish happens) I think a lot of it is dependant on stocking levels. And your husbandry. I believe anecdotally that the people with the most trouble are those with overly complicated systems who dose rather than water change. But that us just my observation and experience.
Long and short, glad again that everything made it!!
