There are days I do miss my t5's... what fixture do you use on the your tank?

I run my hydra 26s with the ramp up and ramp down time included 9 hrs 12pm-9pm and the t5s come on at 2pm-7pm

Okay, I think I'll cut back the t5's to 5-6 hrs during peak light cycle and see how it goes. Thanks guys!
The two small computer fans are working though, temp has only fluctuated 1/2 degree all day. I think I'll still cut back their run time.

@Fence13@Fence13 I did a retrofit and wired up a Workhorse 5 ballast with the bulbs mounted inside the canopy with reflectors. Nothing fancy but it fits my application well and is doing what I was looking for.

I run halides in addition to my AI hydras. I ramp the LEDs up from 9-12, kick the halides on from 2-7 and then ramp down the leds from 7-10.

You're putting a lot of light over a 20g reef if you're running a sol and a 4 bulb t5. If you prefer the look of the t5s and get better growth and color you could run those all day and blast on the sols for 5 hours or so during peak lighting, or just use the sols to blast the blues during ramp in and ramp down. Play around with settings and times and intensities and see what happens.
I was very happy when I ran sol blues with t5 supplemental. I think you'll like the results once you get it dialed in.

It is a lot of light for a 20g! :D but it seems to be working well. Its mainly SPS and running just the Sol blue for awhile has been working. I just decided to add the t5's to see if it helped growth/color. It's an experiment lol but so is the whole tank. All I've bought was wood to make the stand, the T5's, and of course livestock. Other than that the entire setup was put together from stuff I already had. It's been a fun little tank that I've really enjoyed, and it allowed me to use some extra equipment that was gathering dust. :smug:

I was over at Armydog's yesterday in the middle of the light cycle and the colors were great.
