So question on T5HO bulbs. I'm getting ready to add LPS corals to my tank and I was wondering if the T5HO 4x39 watt bulbs that came standard in fixtures were enough for an LPS tank. The fixture currently has two actinic bulbs and two 10k bulbs. Should I upgrade these to some better bulbs?

Might need a bit more information. What size tank? How deep? and how wide? I would think however, that in general 4 t5ho bulbs would be enough for LPS.

My 40B is lit by Tek fixture- 6 x39 watt T5 HO . 4 bulbs is acceptable...light spread will be ok Par is what you need to know from light output. Some bulbs are better than others... I use ATI and GE's 6500K.

I use 4x 54w now over a 72g mixed reef - SPS are fine along with LPS and softies.

Bulbs are ATI Blue Plus, ATI Coral Plus and Giesemann Aquablue Plus.
