I have a yellow tang who is losing pigment around his eyes.  He has no open wounds anywhere and appears healthy otherwise.  He is probably around 3" long.
I thought maybe he had line disease so i have been soaking his nori in vitamins.
I do have excess nutrients as i have hair algae.  My salinity is normal.  I have 2 other fish in the tank  a pj cardinal and a 6 line wrasse.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Mary

Thanks AJ... Excellent article. Looks like the vitamin supplement needs to have Vitamin C and obviously I need to address the hair algae both of which could be factors causing this.

Their current diet is Nori soaked in Vitamins, Rod's Food and Mysis .

I'll do some more research to see what I can find for a vitamin c supplement.

Yeah, looks like HLLE......some tangs are more prone to it than others, but yellow tangs are usually fairly hardy. I'd ad more variety to his diet, a good pellet or flake,as well as the vitamins and other things you're doing.

If you're keeping the tang in that 29 gal tank that you have in yous sig then the size of your tank could be a problem. It seems like ppl who keep tangs in tanks that are 75g and above have very little problems with them, but everything below a 75 seems to whither and die. Also the hair algae points to water quality issues. This may or may not be effecting your fish since algae problems tend to absorb the high nitrates that are causing them to grow and leave you testing 0ppm nitrates.
