I'm getting ready to start a downsizing project and will need to sell my 3 tangs. All 3 are 3-4 inches long and in great health. 1 regal hippo, 1 sailfin, and 1 lieutenant tang. All are great eaters but will need a much larger tank and they are all ready sparing with each other in my 125. Asking for 50 each. I'm going to get a 29 gallon goin as a holding tank and will let you know when I have one or more ready. I will not ship them because I have no desire to get into that. Thanks for looking.

Is that sailfin a regular one or a desjardini?

He looks just like the pic on Drs Fosters of a juvenile desardini but I'm not for sure. I think he might be a regular sailfin I don't know?

Yeah he has the yellow anal fin but no spots so I'm pretty sure he's a regular.

We'll I can't catch these suckers so when I'm ready to tear down my 125 ( hopefully by the end of next week) I'll post on here with 24 hour notice to see if anyone is interested. Then they'll have to come on the day of the tear down to get them or I'll have to trade them in which I really don't want to do. 50 dollars a piece is negotiable cause I'd really like someone in the club to enjoy these. Thanks again.

Look at the picture from LA of the juvenile desjardini again. Focus on the top fin. Notice that it has a pattern of yellow and dark stripes (when flared open) that continue the body stripe pattern. Also notice the body pattern is wide white and thin dark vertical stripes. Do you notice this pattern on yours? If so - dibs.

From what I understand is the one has a spotted look and one does not. More yellow in the Desj vs regular. I have had both depending were it was bought its surly a regular.

Yes that is true (look at the links I posted) but his is possibly a juvenile desjardini, which LA shows in an inset pic. The spots don't show up until later but there are other traits that indicate it is desjardini and not standard. Another trait appears of the juvenile appears to be a clear tail fin

    Here is the standard sailfin

Here is the Desjardini Sailfin with juvenile insert

    On Desjardini Juvenile:

    Clear tain

    Yellow anal fin

    Stripes on top fin

Vertical banding is wide white with thin black (may not look like this exactly)

EDIT: Desjardini Sailfins also appear to have more of a black/white stark contrast. Standard ones are more brown & yellow. But if stressed the Desjardini will turn really, really dark, like black.

Ok, if it has the wider brown stripes with thin yellow stripes running through the brown, then it's definitely a standard (pacific) sailfin
