Is there such thing as some sort of monitor for your tank that will send alerts to your phone when something goes wrong in your tank? Like if the temp is above a certain range or the pH changes or salinity goes crazy. I would be willing to pay quite a bit for something that would do this. Any one know of anything?
    Thanks,Kylie

Ok. Well, it looks like I'm finally getting into the controller world. I know there has been some problems here and there with the various brands but what do/don't you like about each? Of course I would like to spend the least amount of money but whichever is the better buy I will do (in the future when my savings recovers from buying car).

Things I would really like to be able to monitor are water levels in my ATO bucket (having problems not knowing when that is drained so my tank starts to drain), water level inside the sump (so like if it started increasing that would indicate the pump died or power went out), pH, temp, being able to turn certain things off for maintenance or feedings without unplugging everything, being able to set timers/schedules for when different media need to be changed and when WC's are due, and if its possible, an alarm for if the power goes out if thats possible, etc... Pretty basic stuff. If anyone has any more info on these, that would be great. I'm going to start looking around on the internet as well.

Also, I'm assuming you buy the pH/temp probes and such to attach to the controller? Do they need to be certain brands?

    THANKS!

You're going to pay a premium for an Apex. I'd look for a used AC3 and start there. Everyone wants an Apex now so they are available cheap!

i will be selling my ac3 as soon as i recieve my ac3 pro asking $150 for the ac3 comes with ph probe and temp probe you will have to buy a dc8 or dc4 for it a new dc8 costs $150 u can find them used for around $100 on RC a new DC4 costs $100 you can find the used for around $75 the ac3 can do everything you want except for maintinance reminders but a calinder can do that LOL
Thanks for the offer /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif I need to recover from buying my car before getting anything. If you still have it in a few months, I'll bite /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

Used AC3 is the way to go. Cheap, stable, and lots of people that know them.
