    Almost had a disaster, I came home and the quarter inch plate glass top I was using on the tank had broke! Three big shards of glass in the tank and the how I didn LED's we're barely out of the water! I almost freaked out!!! Luckily nothing went in the water and I was able to get the big pieces out.

    How did it happen? 1/4 inch glass doesn't usually just shatter on it's own.

    Im guessing heat from the halide. Thank goodness it wasnt tempered...

    I would guess you're right. I don't know if heat itself would do it, but all it would take is a little splash of cool water on that hot glass to break it. Tempered glass may have actually stood up better, but I am not positive.

    Im using the screen top off of my turtle tank for now. Gonna look for some black eggcrate

    Some of those little fish you have will fit right through that egg crate. Screen tops are the best when you have little fish that you are trying to keep in. Just watch the heat from the metal halide. It could destroy any kind of plastic you put over the tank.

    Im stronly considering doin an led build and putting the hood back on... I can get two drivers and 6 10w chips for $50

    Looks great! I wouldn't have thought about 2 different types of clowns. I like that idea.

    Thanks. I was advised that a perc would be the best choice as they are both percula in the end
