SO it's about time to pull my RBTA from the QT. The problem is she is only about an inch big. any one have any good suggestions to getting her in the tank and seated without her going walk about right off the bat? I would hate to lose one so small to a punp within the first week in the DT!

+1 Is it already attached to a rock? If not, provide one where it can really dig it's foot in. I'd suggest foam covers for the powerheads as it will at least provide some protection should it detach. Start the nem on the sandbed where there is least flow No need to rush the acclimation period :0)

Oh no little guy has been in the QT for about a month now. I was thinking maybe a cup with rubble in it in the DT. I was just hoping some one had some great tips. Pics to come after it acclimates tomorrow!

If you put it in rubble, it is more likely to go on a walk-about. Providing a rock where it can firmly attach and retreat if it feels threatened will make it less likely to wander :0) They prefer to stay on a rock; they wander when something isn't 'right' for them. Wandering can be caused because of predators, lighting, flow...alot of things! If they are sick or need to split but there's not a sufficient nearby place to grab onto for splitting, they will even move :0) Also, when they are in rubble there is a higher risk of their foot being injured! Foot injuries are almost a sure death to nems :9(

Acclimated and dropped! I just tucked him under a medium flow jetty in the rock work while I placed some corals. By the time I had my hands out he was burying his tiny foot in, so with any luck he will still be there this afternoon! Will upload some pics when I get home.

Good luck. I hate Nem's because they don't always stay put and they can get stuck in your power heads. The one I had stayed put for months but with out warning it bargain a walk about. I was never so nervous for my tank then at that time. Very cool creature for sure, but just not worth the pain for me. Lol

So far so good! but lets be honest two days is nothing. He will split, and he will go walkabout many times through his life I am sure of this. I have a 4 year old Condy in my other thank that has gone for laps for months at a time. The main difference is the 'rarity' difference of them.
