The directions are just awful!  I have no clue what to do next on it.  I have the two things connected and plugged in, but really cannot for the life of me understand the toggles and which outlet to plug the various appliances into /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif  Is there a more user-friendly direction manual out there somewhere?  Can someone explain how to do it better than the manual?  The two things I'd like to set-up right now are turning my actinics off and on 2x a day and then I'd like to have the sump fan come on if the main tank reaches temp X........any help is much appreciated!

I would hook it up to be device A and 1-8 making your addressable outlets A01 thru A08. For that configuration, all switches would be set to the "Off" position (only switches 1 - 3 matter, switch 4 is unused). I agree, their users guide really does suck. Here's the guide specifically for the DC8 that mentions the switch position and which outlet is which. I think the diagrams are helpful. http://www.neptunesys.com/images/do...%201.2.pdf. Your control cord should be connected to the Control In and back to the Control outlet on the ACJr. The specific things that you're wanting to do are covered in the AC3 Programming Guide that I've been working on here: http://www.greateriowareefsociety.o...fault.aspx. For what you're wanting to do with your actinics and your fan, you would do something like this:

    Timer Name
    ACT%-A01
    FAN%-A02

    Program Statements
If Time > 08:00 Then ACT ON
If Time > 12:00 Then ACT OFF
If Time > 15:00 Then ACT ON
If Time > 22:00 Then ACT OFF
If Temp < 79.9 Then FAN OFF
If Temp = 79.9 Then FAN OFF
If Temp > 80.0 Then FAN ON

Of course, you will need to adjust times and temps to your preferences, but that should give you the general idea. I hope this helps.
