I discovered a pesky error in the conversion, one that I had encountered during the dry-run, and they managed to miss it this time around. It had to do with formatting of post content where lots of bold/italic/underline formatting was used - the entire post ended up formatted. Not a widespread issue, but fixing it would have been a manual process. They went ahead and fixed it (no charge), but that took 4-5 days to get done. I got that update today and installed it, and it's looking good.

In the meantime I worked on manually transitioning content, took a break from that to get really sick for a few days which was super awesome.

Continuing with manual content transition, installation of add-ons, configuration, permissions, etc. It's looking decent for doing the actual transition within a week. I know I've said that before but this time, it looks for real

    Attention everyone!

The transition to Xenforo will begin tonight!

I will be taking the current site offline starting around midnight tonight.

I will then be making DNS changes to point to the new site. These changes will take approximately 24 hours to propagate through the internet, but it may take more (or less) time.

The URL will NOT change. The new site may be online via the URL within a few hours of the transition, but it will not be accessible (i.e. it will be shut off to all except administrators). During this time, I will be manually transitioning the remaining content (any posts made since Tuesday) and tweaking configurations.

Once the Xenforo forum is opened up for use, you will need to reset your password. After clicking "Log In", you will need to select the "Forgot your password?" link, and enter your username OR your e-mail address. You will receive a password reset e-mail with a link to reset your password. After clicking that link, you will receive a second e-mail with a randomly generated password. Use this password to log in to your account, then change your password to one you can remember.

Your new Xenforo username will be the same as your DISPLAY name - the one everyone sees on your posts. This should be the same as it is now, unless you have changed it in the last month. If you forget the spelling of your username, or it doesn't work, use your e-mail address.

There are certain usernames that needed to change slightly due to illegal characters, such as commas, or usernames that looked like an e-mail address.

If you have problems, do not register a new account - use the "contact us" link at the bottom of the new forum, and send a message.

You will also receive an e-mail generated by the new forum containing your username and e-mail address associated with your account.

The transition will be made in a few stages:

The first stage will re-establish the basic forum functions - being able to post messages, create threads, and use the personal messaging system. You will also be able to pay for club membership.

Subsequent stages will re-establish the "home" page, club links, documents, sponsor banners, etc.

They will also bring the Media Gallery and Resource pages online, as well as enhanced functionality.

This process may take a few weeks to get set in stone, as there may be unforseen bugs that show up after everyone gets online.

Have a great Saturday, see you on the other side!

Looks like I'm going to wait until the AM as the bulk mailer that was sent out a few hours ago is going to take longer.

Also DNS settings aren't setting up at fast as expected...can't make the switch until I can ping the new nameservers
