Anyone ever used UltraLife Red Slime Stain Remover or something similar? More curious than anything as it's come up on numerous forums in my searches of how to remove a bunch of cyano in my tank but the newest posts are from circa 2011. Based on reviews it seems to be a "magic bullet" but I'm skeptical to say the least.

At this point I'm attributing the bloom to NTS & NRS(new reefer syndrome) and removing what I can by hand while bumping up the water changes, reducing feedings, and reducing lighting. Like I mention in the title, just more curious than anything.

I've used chemiclean before. I have had good success with it.

I have also used the chemiclean with acceptable results. It will make your skimmer go nuts. I removed the collection cup for 3 days and just used the skimmer as a source of gas exchange as some say there is a risk of low oxygen levels as a result. You also should look at flow/power head placement as my problem was a result of lack flow allowing detritus to settle and sit.

I leave the cup on and turn the skimmer all the way down. And inject the air line of the skimmer with reef grow bio Load. It helpseems with the low o2 problem. It says on the bottle of reef grow how to use with cryno cleaners

Everything I had been reading on the product mentioned skimmers going nuts. I've been playing with my wavemakers, 2x Jebao PP-4, positions trying to get everything covered. I can get the strands of the algae to really flow back and forth but it just seems to love the ride. I did order a couple of cheaper 528-gph wavemakers to see if they'll help at all; should be here tomorrow I think. How old were your tanks when you tried the products?

Thanks @Turbo's Aquatics@Turbo's Aquatics , I read that article from your reply on another recent post regarding algae and am planning to go that route and let it run it's course.
