This thread got me thinking about trying to recharge some RO resin and see how well that works out. The 'problem' is that it requires quite a bit of resin to do. I only have one canister. Was thinking about asking to see if anyone has any they are changing soon and would be willing to 'donate' to be part of my experiment to see if I can reproduce these results. I would be more than happy to give back the RO resin that I have "cleaned" if you wanted to try it again in your own systems. I know most people just toss the stuff too, so if you just empty it into a bad I would be happy to take it off your hands as well, assuming you are fairly local. Let me know what you think!

I just threw away about 4 lbs of it last week! I have also read about that and it sounds very dangerous and time consuming so I didn't want to try it. Good luck.

I need to change mine now and you are welcome to it. Are you going to be at Spring Fest?

How often are you suppose to change the resin? How do you know it needs to be changed?

You change it when it is exhausted you know it is exhausted by checking your TDS ( total disolved solids ) and if they are anything but 0 it is time to change it. BRS has a cheap hand held TDS meter for around $20 thats what I use works great.

I have also since added an inline TDS reader to my setup and I love it. No "work" necessary /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif
