UV

  1. So i picked up a UV stabilizer today from Coral Haven, problem im having is the fittings are to small looks like my lines are atleast 1" what should i do? I hate messaging with water lines.

    What uv sterilizer did you get. Most of them that I have seen are ran off a separate pump or a valve ran off a main line to reduce flow

    If it's the big one the 36 watt you can cut back the plastic to the threads and then screw on 1 inch pvc fittings make sure you use something on the threads I used alot of Teflon tape them glued a 1 inch to 3/4 inch adapter in the 1 inch fitting than put a 3/4 inch hose barb on it work very well you could always put unions on it to

    what kind of line are you plumbing it with? flexible line, rigid pvc? Should be able to get some kind of reducer to go from your line to the fitting size on the UV unit either way.
    Pics might help for more specific options.

  8. So i got my UV set up today, My split in my line is right off my pump, so only 50% of the water through the pump is ran through the VU, so im goin to play with it from there

    Did you have any problems putting on the pvc adapters
