Kind of embarrassing for me to ask this, but they don't give discounts even to their own students at ISU (shocker!) and my dogs need bordetella vaccines to be boarded. They get updated on everything else when I go home for the summer since the vet I worked for takes care of me. Just to get the bordetella vaccine updated here locally will cost two office visits plus the vaccination fee which will run me over $100 for the two dogs, on vaccines that are less than $5 a piece. Does anyone know of just a vaccine clinic in the Des Moines area? Been doing some searches and making some phone calls and found nothing. I can;t imagine there isn't a single clinic like this in Des Moines?
You can order from foster and smith for 2.99 per (nasal version), see if the kennel will accept a reciept as proof they are current.
Sadly they won't /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif They want an actual vaccination record from a Veterinary Hospital. Theisen's sells them locally as well, which would have been easy and quick (I believe they sell everything outside of Rabies, which is a legal issue). I am also told I can buy it through school, but if it is adminised there they would add a clinic and vx administration fee.
Thought I'd update that it turns out if I bring the vaccine to them, they will administer it and the legal stuff should be squared away.
