Vortech maintenance

    Ok, so those of you who have a Vortech pump.  How often do you clean the wet side?  And if so, how do you do it.   I haven't done it before and figure it's probably about time to do so.

    Every couple months.

    Not sure how new yours is. A couple years back they started replacing the ceramic bearings and magnets due to rusting. Then they came up with a better ceramic bearing, because the orginial design tended to cut into the washer and magnet. (I believe they just started charging for the bearing).....what I am saying is that if it is newer then it is super easy....if it is older you have to pay attention to make sure everything lines up perfectly and in the correct order, and that the magnet isn't grooved and that the bearing is not damaged in any way.

    Instead of listening to me rambel check out the ecotech marine website, you tube, and your manual.

    Ok so I found  the information on Ecotechs website here it is.   Link  I'll probably just stick to doing that.

    I'm not quite sure , but i think mine is less than a year old. But im not sure if it has the new assembly or not. I guess i will find out when i dissassemble it.
